MECHANICAL ENGINEERING · KOÇ UNIVERSITY

Islam
Muradov.

I design, simulate and build mechanical systems—from modular UAVs to thermal and control systems.

Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration double-major student at Koç University. Captain of KUAVA’s 40-member UAV team, with experience leading aircraft design and manufacturing, aerodynamic analysis and prototype development.

NOV 2024 — PRESENT

Team Captain

KUAVA Aerial Vehicle Association

Lead a 40-member team across mechanical, aerospace, electrical and software disciplines. Coordinate UAV development from CAD and aerodynamic analysis to Gazebo/PX4 flight simulation.

SPRING 2025 & SPRING 2026

Thermodynamics Teaching Assistant

Koç University

Led problem-solving sessions connecting theory to engineering applications, supported assessment and provided structured student feedback.

AUG — SEP 2025

Engineering Intern

Azerbaijan Refinery

Analyzed reactor operating data to identify cooling as the main cycle bottleneck, then developed a SolidWorks ducting design for forced-air cooling. Performance testing was pending when the internship ended.

AUG — SEP 2024

Quality Control & Base Maintenance Intern

Silk Way Technics

Inspected Boeing 747-8 wing leading-edge structures for fatigue and corrosion, and supported trailing-edge flap lubrication and functional checks.

03 / ABOUT

Design decisions.
Engineering evidence.

I connect numerical analysis with practical design: sizing UAV mechanisms, developing repairable structures and comparing designs through simulation.

Leading multidisciplinary teams has also taught me to coordinate work across mechanical, electrical and software systems.
